Because I am plant hobbyist, I want to ask you who was this adventurer:
His ship's crew included also the accomplished botanist and the capable naturalist so they were able to do lot of plant collecting while navigating unexplored regions of the world.

8. Arja | 2008-10-3 | Anglų

9. Ragna | 2008-10-5 | Anglų
Could you give us more hints, maybe the name of the boat or the botanice.

10. Arja | 2008-10-5 | Anglų

All the names are well-known and if I tell, you can find them by google too easily.

In his time it was common, that ships lost half their crew to scurvy. But he didn’t loose any man to scurvy because he used sauerkraut to prevent it. So he was awarded a medal for demonstrating that sauerkraut could be used to allay scurvy in crews on long sea voyages

Now a new adventurer.
A nowegan or islandic one. He did get to hear about a land in the west of somebody who strandet there during a storm. Luckely they found the way home again and told the story to my adventurer who made the trip and found what he searched for.

14. Ragna | 2008-10-6 | Anglų
This adventurer lived 1000 years ago.

15. Ragna | 2008-10-7 | Anglų
His father was red headed and also if they say that he was the first to discover this country, it is another man who gets the credit for it.

16. Ragna | 2008-10-8 | Anglų
His time when he lived is called the Vikings time in all the world.

17. Ragna | 2008-10-19 | Anglų

21. Jazz | 2008-11-10 | Anglų
Is it Erik the Viking, also known as Erik the Red?
22. Ragna | 2008-11-10 | Anglų
Not quite him he discovered Greenland, his son discovered America they say.

23. Jazz | 2008-11-11 | Anglų
Hmmm. Okay, I'll have to think a lot harder. I am a little confused though, I must admit, because I thought Christopher Columbus was credited with discovering America.
24. Jazz | 2008-11-11 | Anglų
Okay, Ragna, now I'm really stuck! Please help. All the websites I visited say that Erik the Red discovered Greenland, and that Lief Erikson is his son, so now I really have no idea. Sorry I couldn't figure it out.

smiley
25. Ragna | 2008-11-11 | Anglų
Yes and Leif Eriksson is the man I'm asking for. One of his friends came in to a storm and they saw a land that was unknown untill then. Read more here:
